For membership questions or help updating your account, contact memberservices@iida.org. If your email address has changed, Member Services must update it before you can sign in with the new address.
Reminder: You do not need to be a member to attend IIDA Oregon Chapter events, however members receive special discounts on tickets in addition to the benefits provided by IIDA headquarters.
Membership Types
Professional
For interior design practitioners who have passed the NCIDQ Exam and architects who have passed the ARE. Experienced professionals who meet IIDA’s alternative education, experience, and reference requirements may also qualify.
Associate
For interior designers who have completed at least two years of formal interior design education but have not earned NCIDQ Certification.
Student
For students currently enrolled in an interior design, architecture, or closely related program. Student membership provides access to mentoring, competitions, scholarships, leadership opportunities, internship resources, and professional connections.
Educator
For full-time instructors, adjunct professors, and department chairs teaching in post-secondary interior design programs. Educators join at the Professional or Associate level based on their qualifications and receive reduced membership rates.
Industry
Industry membership is available to individuals and companies that support the commercial interior design profession through products or specialized services.
Industry-Individual Membership is designed for professionals such as manufacturers, dealers, distributors, product designers, lighting designers, photographers, craftspeople, and other industry partners.
Industry-Corporate Membership provides tiered membership options for eligible companies and their representatives. Architecture and design firms do not currently qualify for Industry-Corporate membership.
International
International membership is available to designers whose primary residence is outside the United States. Professional, Associate, Corporate, and qualifying dual-membership options are available.
Inactive, Retired, and Emeritus
Professional and Associate Members who are no longer practicing because of retirement, illness, disability, unemployment, or relocation may contact Member Services to ask about Inactive or Retired Status.
Retired Professional Members with a significant record of service and achievement may also qualify for the honorary IIDA Emeritus designation.
Dues and Payments
IIDA memberships follow the calendar year, January through December. Current dues, processing fees, and prorated rates vary by membership type and are published by IIDA Headquarters.
Annual and monthly payment options are available for many membership types. Members can join, renew, review invoices, and manage payment methods through the IIDA member portal. The monthly option was formerly known as EZ Pay.

IIDA membership connects you with professional resources and a global design community. Benefits vary by membership type and may include:

IIDA Appellations
Members in good standing may use the appellation associated with their membership type after their name. The designation communicates an active commitment to the interior design profession and may be used on business cards, websites, email signatures, proposals, biographies, and other professional materials.
Common appellations include:
- IIDA — Professional Member
- Assoc. IIDA — Associate Member
- Student IIDA — Student Member
- Ind. IIDA — Industry-Individual Member
Always capitalize IIDA and do not separate the letters with periods.
