About the Role

Scott Edwards Architecture is seeking a Healthcare Interior Designer or Interior Architect to join our Health and Wellness Studio.

The Health and Wellness Studio designs the full spectrum of outpatient and inpatient environments. Projects range widely in both scale and type and include both new construction and tenant improvements.

We are seeking a self-directed, collaborative, and client-focused professional to design, document, and administer highly functional, durable, and inspirational spaces.

Qualifications

Only candidates meeting the following qualifications and experience will be considered:

  • Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture from an accredited institution
  • 10+ years of professional experience in healthcare design and construction document production
  • High proficiency in interior detailing
  • Strong technical and design skills with a commitment to high-quality design
  • Experience producing construction documents
  • Exposure to projects pursuing state-required licensure
  • Familiarity with ADA, OARs, NFPA, and FGI healthcare requirements
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and consultants while managing project budgets and schedules
  • Experience creating quality environments that meet client design standards
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including client presentation experience
  • Proficiency in Revit required
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • Experience with SketchUp preferred
  • Construction administration experience, including:
    • Site visits and meetings
    • RFI responses
    • Submittal reviews
    • Shop drawing reviews
  • WELL and/or LEED accreditation preferred
  • Experience mentoring junior healthcare designers is a plus

THE ROLE

Opsis is seeking an Interior Designer with 12+ years of experience to work across a wide variety of project types alongside a team of interior designers and architects.

We believe great environments are created by integrated and engaged design teams, and this role will collaborate closely with both architectural and interior design staff across multiple phases of design.

RESPONSIBILITIES

– Lead creative efforts across a variety of client projects, developing overall design concepts and presentation strategies
– Utilize creative thinking to develop innovative technical and design solutions
– Prepare and present client presentations, including design concepts and drawings
– Facilitate effective execution of project design and delivery of construction documents
– Prepare and verify documents to ensure alignment with QA/QC standards, Opsis standards, and best practices
– Coordinate with consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, fabricators, and contractors
– Develop finish materials and color palettes
– Perform product research and support materials and systems evaluation
– Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E)
– Assist in developing project work plans and managing production schedules, including defining and meeting deadlines
– Coordinate with project teams on programming, space planning, design development, construction documents, finishes, furnishings, RFIs, and submittals
– Attend site visits, field reviews, and project meetings, documenting as appropriate

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

– Accredited professional degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
– 12+ years of interior design experience across multiple project types, including public and civic projects
– Proficiency in Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam Revu, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign preferred
– Advanced knowledge of sustainability and integrated design

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– NCIDQ certification or architectural license strongly preferred
– Sustainable design accreditation preferred
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred
– Strong communication skills with the ability to convey ideas clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
